Dr. Vanessa received her PhD in Integrative Biology in 2009. Shas has several papers published in various scientific journals including topics of reproductive endocrinology, immunology, and molecular biology. She taught classes at the University level, including Anatomy and Physiology, for over 8 years. As her career developed, she found a passion for making difficult topics easy to understand and increasing health literacy. Health literacy is defined as the degree to which individuals have the capacity to obtain, process, and understand basic health information needed to make appropriate health decisions. The one thing we must understand is that even though not everyone will go into the medical field, there are instances in which you must be able to advocate for yourself or a loved one. The more you know about your body & how it works, the better you can understand and form those decisions.
